NEWS & NOTES

It appears as though the Bears are preparing Brian Griese in the event that they decide to make a quarterback change. Griese has taken reps with the first team all week. This means that Grossman could get the early hook on Monday night.

The Vikings have decided to let Chester Taylor test out injured ribs before kickoff on Sunday. If Taylor feels like he can carry the load, he will play. Even if he does play, there's no telling how long he can go. I'd avoid him this week.

There had been some question in the middle of the week whether Willis McGahee would play due to an ankle injury. However, as the gametime approaches it looks like he'll play. The banged up McGahee has a pretty decent matchup against the Jets tomorrow, and he should be in the lineup.

Despite rumors of a possible replacement at QB, Coach Gruden continues to support Bruce Gradkowski as the team's QB. However, if he plays like he does last week, I assume that Gruden may change his mind. Luke McCown may get a look at some time.

Jay Feely has a sore foot, and the Giants have brought in other kicker in case he can't go. He is listed as probable and should play, but just to be safe it'd be smart to look elsewhere.

While one kicker ails another one heals. Jason Elam, who got hurt on the dumbest of plays on Sunday night, has made a quick recovery, and it looks like he'll be able to play Sunday. If you have him, start him.

Both Joe Horn and Marques Colston did participate in a full workout on Friday. They will both be game-time decisions for Sunday Night. I doubt either will play and since they have the late game, it's not a good idea to take the wait and see approach.

DeShaun Foster will be all systems go on Sunday for the Panthers. Despite being back to full strength, the emergence of DeAngelo Williams couple with the injury to Jake Delhomme should hurt his stats. He's not that great of a start on Sunday.

While Foster will play, Delhomme is on the verge of being inactive. His injured thumb never healed enough to allow him to practice fully. Chris Weinke will take over as QB, and the entire Panthers offense should suffer fantasy wise.
