SUNDAY RECAP NFC STYLE

Santana Moss- Up until this week Moss was one of the most unproductive high priced receivers in the league, but finally he delivered. Boy did he deliver! Moss went for 148 yards on 4 catches, 3 of which were TDs. From his history, Santana's TDs seem to come in bunches, so don't expect games like this consistently. However, with a matchup against the weak Giants pass defense looming, he could bust out again.

Clinton Portis- Southeast Jerome showed that he's all the way back this year with a very impressive performance against a tough Jaguars defense that is great against the run. He seems like he will be money in the back all year as your RB 1. Congratulate yourself on not being scared by his preseason injury.

Julius Jones- One of the more suprising things this year has been the consistent play of Dallas RB Julius Jones. There was a lot of talk coming into the year that if Jones played poorly, Marion Barber III would replace him. However, Jones has put an end to those rumors by posting 288 yards 2 TD's and 4.8 a carry in 3 games. With a pretty good schedule ahead of him, he's going to continue his great play.

Rex Grossman- A few weeks I told you to sell high on Grossman. Well, I'm starting to great that decision. Rex has become a top 10 fantasy QB, and he has a really pathetic schedule facing him the next two months. He can now be used as your starting QB and his great play pushes Mushin Muhammed up to a top 15 WR.

Thomas Jones- Finally, Thomas Jones has stepped up his play to compliment the Bears new passing game. Last night he went for 98 yards and 2 TDs. With defenses having to respect the pass now, Jones should perform better and the weak schedule will help him as well.

Chester Taylor- The Vikings workhouse was completely shut down by Buffalo's rush defense for 23 yards on 10 carries. The Vikings did not seem to inclined to establish the run and Taylor suffered. Taylor is definitely one of those sell high candidates because he has never carried a full workload and will have his numbers tail off by the end of the season.

Marques Colston- The former Hofstra WR is slowly becoming a fantasy God. It's so rare that in fantasy football there would be a loophole that would allow a stud WR to be TE eligible. After being shut down all day, Colston rewarded his fantasy groupies by catching an 86 yard touchdown pass. He finished the day with a 132 yards and a TD, which shows he has no signs of slowing down.

Reggie Bush- There's no reason Bush should be starting fantasy leagues. He hasn't had good production in any of his games and will probably rack up his than 3 TD's this season. Yesterday he had 22 yards rushing and 48 yards receiving. If the Saints drafted Coltson first round and Bush seventh round, these stats would be about what we expected, but that's football for you.

Deshaun Foster- Another guy who was due for a bust out performance was this man, and like many others, he delivered. Foster had 105 yards and 1 TD on a mere 16 carries. The Panthers continue to play some weak rush defenses, and as long as the Panthers continue to win Foster should get his share of the carries.

Steve Smith- Smith is clearly the best injured player in the history of the game. Everyone of the field could see that he wasn't 100% but still he went for 87 yards and a TD. Once he finally is at full strength, he will validate his early pick and boost Delhomme's numbers.

Matt Hasselbeck- There's really no reason to worry about his poor performance on Sunday night. He was facing the NFL's best defense without his MVP running back. Hasselbeck is still an elite fantasy QB who remains an every week start.

Maurice Morris- Alexander's replacement totaled 35 yards on 11 carries. The Seahawks were down quick so they really could not run the ball that much. It appears that that Alexander will be back in week 7, so with a bye next week, Morris' only remaining start should be against St. Louis. He's a great play against the Rams defense so keep him around.

Marc Bulger- As he becomes more accustomed with Scott Linehan's numbers he becomes more impressive. Yesterday, he had 328 yards and 3 TDs against the Lions. Bulger is also yet to throw an interception this year. With a date against GB looming next week, he's a must start.

Frank Gore- The demise of Frank Gore has begun. With another poor performance Sunday and persistent fumbling problems, Gore has come back to earth. He should produce very we;; next week at Oakland, but after that the schedule gets tougher. Try to trade him after his date with Oakland.

Kurt Warner/Matt Leinart- First let's take a look back at what was the most improbable of careers. Warner defied all odds by going from Arena League to NFL MVP. His numbers are among the greats and his story is sure to live on forever. However, his turnover problems have led to the end of his career as a starter. Matt Leinart has stepped into the starting role and should perform pretty well with an abundance of talent around him. He's definitely worth a bench spot right now.

Edgerrin James- The Edge sees how different life has become without the great offensive line of the Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning helping him. James is now just an average fantasy RB until he can show he has regained his form from last year. The addition of Leinart should help but don't expect great numbers from James the rest of the way.

Jerrious Norwood- This is another player I love. His speed his mind boggling and seems like a perfect fit for the Atlanta offense. If not next year, then the year after it seems like Norwood will take over for Dunn as the featured back. He's an excellent addition to your keeper league and a decent play in redraft leagues.
