DAUNTING DECISIONS
This is the last week of byes, so next week will start what will be a generally consistent lineup for the rest of the season. There are most likely about six weeks left till your fantasy playoffs, and it's crucial to win the bye week games because it involves the best managing. Daunting Decisions did a decent job last week telling who to play, and looks to improve again for this weekend's slate of games.
Michael Vick- Mojo risin! The last two weeks have been not footsteps but leaps for the Falcons QB. He has once again established himself as the most dangerous weapon in the NFL, and he is making a strong case for the league's MVP. While he won't have to do as much to beat Detroit on Sunday, he should have multiple TDs. START
Thomas Jones- Off to another solid season, Jones has kept top 5 pick Cedric Benson on the bench once again. The Bears should demolish the Dolphins, so Benson will probably get the majority of the second half carries like he did against the 49ers. Jones should top 100 yards and score a TD, just as he did last week though. START
Ahman Green- Three things are going well for Ahman Green. He's coming off back to back 100 yard games. His backup Vernand Morency is out for this week. He's playing the Buffalo Bills. The Packers are a different team from last year, relying more on the run and less on Favre. Expect them to pound the rock for most of the game and wear down the Bills. START.
Troy Williamson- The second year WR has had his struggles so far this season, but nothing helps players more than games against the Niners. Williamson's troubles have been attributed to his inability to locate the ball in the air. While this sounds like a skill that could have been learned a decade ago, it probably won't matter against the 49ers. The whole Vikings offense is due for a bounce back after the Monday Night debacle. START.
David Garrard- Sometimes I don't understand what teams do in the NFL. Despite being healthy enough to play on Sunday, Byron Leftwich will be backing up for the Jaguars. Instead, they will go with a less talented QB, who did nothing at all to lead Jacksonville to their victory over Philadelphia. Nevertheless, if he does start against Tennessee on Sunday, it's a great matchup against a thin Titans defense that is missing Pacman Jones. START.
Patriots' RBs- Last week New England recognized that the Vikings were excellent in rush defense, so they proceeded to throw all day. This week New England will recognize that Indy cannot stop the run, so they will proceed to run all day. Both Corey Dillon and Laurence Maroney should get a lot of carries, and it wouldn't be a shock to see both get in the endzone. START.
Marques Colston- Last time the Saints took on the Bucs, Colston had his least productive game with 3 catches for 38 yards. Expect more of the same because the Tampa defense has hit a real groove lately. The Bucs shut down the Saints last game and should have won, and will probably do more of the same. SIT.
Rudi Johnson- The poor offensive line play has hurt Rudi this year, and a game against the Baltimore Ravens is not the solution to his problems. The Ravens, like always, have been very good against the run, and they should attack the Bengals offensive line all day. While the Bengals will look to pound the rock, Johnson should have a poor yards per carry and may not go over 70 yards. SIT.
Broncos' RBs- Just when we thought for the first time in years the Broncos RB game was set, something like this had to happen. Once Tatum Bell went down with his toe injuries, fantasy owners knew they were doomed. Tatum and Mike will split carries on Sunday, which makes neither a very desirable option against the stout Pittsburgh defense. SIT.
Wali Lundy- Two tremendous games have solidified Lundy as the Texans RB for the rest of the season, but a game against a Giants defense that has been murderous all year against the run means it's a good idea to pass on Lundy this week. The Texans will probably play from behind and need to throw as well. This is a good week to rest Lundy and see what he can do against a great defense. SIT.
Ronnie Brown- One of the biggest fantasy busts all season is far from an every week option. With a matchup against the Bears on Sunday, it would be a great idea to keep him on your bench if you don't want to be disappointed again. It would be a stretch to start anyone on Miami's offense, but after this game a second half bounce back for Brown and others is possible. SIT.
