FANTASY MD

Larry Fitzgerald- It appears that Fitzgerald will not play again this week. This is a big loss for fantasy owners because Arizona is going up against the weak Oakland defense. Bryant Johnson would be a fine replacement for him this week.

DeAngelo Williams- The promising young RB from Memphis will miss a month with his ankle injury. Deshaun Foster has become an every week RB 2 start because of the injury to his future replacement. The last thing Carolina needs is another injury prone RB on their roster, so hopefully Williams can stay healthy for the rest of his career.

Ahman Green- The often injured RB practiced on Monday following the Packers bye week. He apparently looked good in practice so barring injury, he should be all systems go on Sunday versus Miami. He should still lose some carries though to Noah Herron and Vernand Morency.

Shaun Alexander- Coach Holmgrem said that his MVP running back will miss another two weeks with his foot injury. He should be back in perfect time for fantasy owners: week 9 against Oakland. Maurice Morris will continue to carry the ball until then.

Steve McNair- The Ravens survived a scare after McNair was removed from the game with a concussion. Brian Billick says that following the team's bye this week, McNair should be their starting QB. Boller played decent in relief, but the Ravens feel much more comfortable with Air McNair behind center.

Trent Green- Once again Trent Green will not play this week for the Chiefs. He's most likely a week away from actually practicing. A realistic projection for him to start again would be week 9 @ St. Louis.

Curtis Martin- Here's a name you haven't heard in weeks. Martin was eligible to come off the Physically Unable to Perform list this week, but he will probably remain on there for a minimum of two more weeks. He can't be counted on for any sort of production at this point his career.

Donte' Stallworth- After missing the last couple of weeks due to injury, Stallworth's status is up in the air again. It appears unlikely that he will play this week, and the following game will be his return. However, just like you did with Brian Westbrook, search the inactives on Sunday just to be sure.

Matt Jones- The second year WR from Arkansas is doubtful this week following the Jaguars bye week. I'd like to take this moment to propose the ESPN Magazine Outakes with Dan Patrick curse. The last four issues have interviewed the following athletes: Scott Kazmir, Johan Santana, Nick Swisher, and Matt Jones. Kazmir and Jones were both hurt, and Santana was swept out of the playoffs by Swisher, who was then swept by the Tigers.
