MONDAY NIGHT RECAP: GET YOUR EAGLE ON

The heavily favored Eagles last night came into the game trying to get third win this season against one of the NFL's worst defenses. All indications were that the Eagles would handle the Packers easily en route to a 3-1 start to the season leading up to T.O. week. However, both teams (and fantasy owners) took a huge blow before kickoff as RBs Brian Westbrook and Ahman Green were declared inactive before the game. This showed in both teams' play in the entire first half. The Eagles had no running threat at all the entire first half as it seemed that there was no rhythm to their offense. Twice the Eagles were inside the Packers five yard line and fumbled. Shockingly at the half, the Packers had a 9-7 lead.

Normality stepped in during the second half as the Eagles quickly took the lead from Green Bay and never looked back. Donovan McNabb had the big day we all expected by posting 4 touchdowns in the win. Favre however seemed to be on his own without an adequate running game as he reverted to old habits by forcing passes and throwing interceptions. Next week the Eagles will look to win their first NFC East game in over a year when the face the Cowboys at home. The Packers will have the Rams at home, in which should be a very high scoring affair.

Donovan McNabb- The best QB in fantasy football so far put on another impressive performance racking up four TDs on Monday. He has greatly benefited from playing four lackluster defenses to start the season, he has not disappointed. He seems completely healthy and will continue to perform well for the rest of the year.

Brett Favre- There is really no benefit to having the NFL legend on your team at this point in his career. He turns the ball over way too frequently to start every week. However, next week against STL should be on of the few times he will be a star again. He's clearly one of the best QBs of our generation, and it's sad to see how the Packers failed to put a team around him. Favre did leave late in the game with a stinger, but all indications are he'll start next week.

Brian Westbrook- Yet again it seems like Westbrook is incapable of going an entire season without injury. It seems like these nagging injuries won't go away all season so don't be surprised if this isn't the only game he misses. He's still a great start when he's healthy, but he'll definitely keep his owners active. His backup Corell Buckhalter was very ineffective against a weak Packers defense as he was only able to get 49 yards and coughed the ball up once. He's not a very good start if Westbrook's out, mainly because the Eagles don't like to run the ball.

Donte' Stallworth- The new star Eagles WR just didn't look quite right against the Packers last night. He still seems to be bothered by his injury, and it was shown by only being able to grab one catch. Stallworth is one of the names on the never-ending list of Eagles injuries, but it's a good sign he was able to play, and he should be healthy in a few weeks.

Greg Jennings- Another rookie who is quickly putting up numbers, Jennings has been a great pickup so far in fantasy leagues. Favre continues to target him often as he has 5 catches for 86 yards. He's a great start as a #2 or #3 WR as he will continue to put up numbers since the Packers will throw for most of the season.

Ahman Green- It does not appear at all likely that Green will be able to make it through the entire season. He's an older RB who can't shake his hamstring problems. Vernand Morency should have an increased role, and Green will need to become fully healthy to ever reach his old form.
