SUNDAY RECAP: NFC STYLE

Tiki Barber- Finally, Tiki Barber got into the endzone. He had been held without one for the first seven games but was able to take advantage of a weak Texans rush defense. In addition to his TD, Barber had an impressive 115 yards on 17 carries. He'll face his toughest test in weeks against Chicago in week 10.

Tony Romo- In his second career start, Romo was once again impressive for the Cowboys. He was close to 300 yards in the air with 2 touchdowns. He was the best player on the field for most of the day, and if it weren't for the Cowboys' offensive lines inability to block on a field goal, he would receive as much praise as he did last week. He has a very promising matchup next week against Arizona.

Terrell Owens- Ever since Romo has become the starter, Owens has picked up his game. He finished yesterday with 7 catches for 76 yards and a TD, but he was still one of the main reasons they lost. T.O. dropped a sure wide open touchdown pass that would have sealed the game. He also was flagged for excessive celebration after his only touchdown. Owens has had some crucial dropped passes recently, but he is still playing well enough to be a top 5 WR.

Ahman Green- Once again Ahman Green busted out for the Packers again as he went over 100 yards on the ground for the third straight week. He's also been over 5 yards a carry the last three weeks. He's shown no signs of slowing down in this revival in his career, but he faces a tough matchup against the number one rush defense of the Vikings next week.

Greg Jennings- The rookie WR re-aggravated his ankle in the fourth quarter and did not return. Prior to his debater he had 5 catches for 69 yards. It's unclear whether he'll play next week, and the team will update his status later in the week.

Jon Kitna- Mike Martz has really turned around this Detroit offense that shocked Atlanta on Sunday. Kitna had 321 yards and a TD while leading the Lions to victory. Under Martz, Kitna has had at least 225 yards passing in every game. Jon Kitna has become one of the more reliable QBs this year in fantasy. I can't believe I just typed that.

Roy Williams- Another breakout player under Martz has been WR Roy Williams. Going up against DeAngelo Hall, Williams finished with 138 yards and a TD. That's his fourth 100 yard game of this season after having just four in his first two years. He right now on pace for 1438 yards and 8 TDs, which would shatter his previous high in yardage of 819 yards. Perhaps the Lions really will win 9 straight....

Kevin Jones- After being a complete bust last year, Jones is another player who loves Mike Martz. He finished Sunday with 140 total yards and 2 TDs. Right now he has only 80 less rushing yards than he did all season, and he has already set a career high in touchdowns.

Rex Grossman- The surprise QB looked pathetic again on Sunday as he totaled four turnovers for the second time this season. While he is a vastly improved quarterback, he still makes too many mistakes to be among the league's elite. The Bears schedule becomes a bit more difficult now and he lost one of his best WRs, so it may be wise to start a different QB for awhile.

Bernard Berrian- One of the league's best young deep threats this season has been Bernard Berrian. However, in yesterday's loss to the Dolphins, Berrian left early with an injury to his ribs. It was so painful he had trouble talking to reporters, and early indication are that he will miss at least 2-4 weeks.

Joey Galloway- Despite a very inconsistent passing game, Galloway has turned in another decent season. After his first multiple TD game of the season, he's on pace to possibly reach 1000 yards receiving and 8 TDs. He's been one of the lone bright spots in the Tampa Bay offense, and he should still be used in fantasy from week to week.

Reggie Bush- The rookie RB has his worst game as a pro as he finished with negative yardage rushing. He's still not a fantasy option unless it's a point per reception league. His biggest problem is that he dances around, rather than just go north to south. While his jukes are a big part of his game, he needs to change his game to adapt to the NFL.

Drew Brees- The best free agent signing of the year completely tore up the Bucs defense even without Joe Horn or a running game. He finished with 314 yards and 3 TDs as he led to Saints to victory. Brees is on pace for career highs in both yardage and TDs, and he has been one of the most reliable fantasy QBs out there.

Marques Colston- There's no other way to say it: Marques Colston is a beast. Without having Joe Horn on the other side of him, Colston had a career high 11 catches for 123 yards and his 7th TD of the year. He's on pace for 1400 yards and 14 TDs, and add to that he's TE eligible this season, he's clearly one of the best players in all of fantasy.

Michael Vick- He's coming off the two best games of his career, so he'll tear up the Lions. Right? Wrong. Vick proved once again that he can still revert to his old behavior by having a real stinker of a game against Detroit. He finished with 163 yards 1 TD and 3 turnovers. Expect a bounceback game for Vick and the Falcons against Cleveland next week.

Marc Bulger- The Rams QB topped 300 yards for the 5th time this season and threw a TD against the Chiefs on Sunday. With a poor defense, the Rams tend to play from behind which bodes well for Bulger's stats. Scott Linehan has done wonders with him, and he has a remarkable 13 to 1 TD to INT ratio. Expect another big week against Seattle.

Steven Jackson- The Rams RB had a monster day as he totaled over 200 totals yards, including 13 catches for 133 yards. He also had his fourth touchdown of the season. While he hasn't topped 100 yards on the ground since week 2, he's still been a focal point in the passing game. Next week he'll go against a Seattle defense that shut him down earlier in the season.

Frank Gore- As was expected, Gore had his worst day of the season facing the best rush defense in football. On the bright side, his fumbling issues seem to have been dealt with as he went his fourth straight game without one. Gore should get back on the horse next week against Detroit.
