COUNTDOWN TO GAMETIME

Although this has started off as primarily a football site, eventually there will be extensive baseball coverage as well. You will probably see in the future that I am a huge Mets fan and an equally as big Yankee hater. So yesterday was one of the best days of my life. I am also very confident the Mets will win the World Series. Here are some Yankee offseason precitions and some Sunday headlines leading up to kickoff.

The Yankees will fire Joe Torre and hire Lou Pinella, not the right choice Joe Girardi. They need Pinella because he's a manager who's past his prime that will be teamed with players past his prime.

The Yankees will sign Arthur Rhodes because he's an ovverated reliever who will cash in.

The Yankees will sign Gil Meche to an unreasonable deal, and then he will get hurt or pitch poorly, becoming a member of the club that holds Carl Pavano and Jaret Wright.

Okay, now for some football news......

Cedric Houston will not play on Sunday, and the Jets will let Kevan Barlow and Leon Washington split carries.

It's up in the air if Adam Vinitieri will kick on Sunday after the Colts re-signed Martin Gramatica.

Brian Westbrook will likely have surgery at season's end for his nagging injuries. He won't be healthy all year, and he's stil a gametime decision.

Todd Heap says he will play Monday Night, so if you trust him keep him active.
